Jack Meagher

Jack Meagher is the only wedding photographer in the Coffs Harbour area to be awarded the title Master of Photography by the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers [AIPP]and brings that same professionalism and creativity to each assignment. 

Jack pushes the boundaries so clients get exceptional and consistent results. Jack is fond of saying that good photography is a collaborative effort between the subject and the photographer and he looks to capture the things that make every person different, unique and special.

Jack's work has been exhibited on numerous occasions and has appeared in magazines, books, annual reports and in advertising campaigns and galleries. That said he considers his best work is in front of him as he is excited by change and new technology and is open to new ways of producing better photographs.  While Jack is an experienced and skilled film photographer, it is digital technology that allows Jack freedom to experiment. Some images end up on the cutting room floor but this freedom is exciting and more than ever photography remains his passion.

Jack began his photographic career over 35 years ago. His uncle and father were both highly regarded photographers in Forbes in the Central West and after completing school as a boarder in Sydney Jack worked as a  bookkeeper for a few years before returning to his first love - the bush -and established himself as a photographer. His adventurous spirit took him to London where he landed a job with Sotheby's Auction House. Many exciting assignments later- even photographing the Duchess of Windsor's Jewels- Jack returned to the world of advertising in Sydney. For family reasons Jack returned to Forbes 'for a short time' but ended up staying 12 years. While Jack loves the people and wide open plains of the Central West he needed new challenges and moved to Bellingen in 2009 to live in a gorgeous mudbrick house in a rainforest halfway between the mountains and the sea.
